The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force on the 25 May 2018.

What is really important about the GDPR is that it makes sure that small organisations including churches have stronger data and privacy rules when it comes to protecting personal data.

  • Do we need to follow GDPR requirement for all evangelistic/outreach contacts such as health expo contacts, cold calling contacts?
  • Answer: Yes - If we hold any personal information on anyone we need to apply the same requirements. They will need to be contacted and their permission granted to hold their data.
  • Does GDPR apply to the visitors' book in the church foyer/lobby?
    •    Answer: Yes.
